REPAIRS & TUNE-UPS
NO ONE can give you a complete and fair estimate without seeing the bicycle!
Bike tune-ups range from low to high maintenance and can depend on how frequently you ride, where you ride, and what you ride.
If it’s been collecting dust in your garage, bring it in.
If it’s the start of a new season, bring it in.
If it’s making a clicking-kerclunking noise, bring it in.
You get the idea.
When you bring in your bicycle for repair, we will put it in the stand and go over the bicycle with you. We will determine everything that is needed and give you a quote before you leave. Nothing is done without your approval.
TIME: Bike repairs are generally done within a week, but if you need parts there will be a delay due to COVID and the effect on manufacturer’s production.
85 years in business tells us that we know what we are doing, and we proudly stand behind our work.
See below for some of our most popular packages and services but remember – we need to see the bike!
We recommend giving your bicycle a tune-up at the beginning of each season. Temperature changes throughout the year impact the cable tension that controls the derailleurs and brakes on your bike. It is important to have these cables re-tensioned each season to keep your bike shifting and braking smoothly. The following are included in a General Tune-Up:
- Gear adjustment
- Adjust Headset
- Hubs and bottom bracket are set and adjusted
- Wheels trued
- External Lubrication
- General safety inspection
- Front and rear derailleur cable tension is adjusted
- Front and rear brake cable tension is adjusted
- Brake pads are adjusted
- Bike tubes are checked for punctures and tires are inflated to proper psi
A Deluxe Tune-up includes all General Tune-Up services AND a drive-train overhaul. We recommend cleaning and re-lubricating your drive-train every three to five rides, but we know it doesn’t always happen. Regardless, if you put miles on your bike, it’s a good idea to have a drive-train overhaul once every other season, and it can make a bike ride like new. If a whole bunch of black gunk comes off when you run your finger down the chain, its time for a Deluxe Tune-Up!
